Barrel Cactus – This image was made in the cactus garden in the center of Carefree, Arizona. Technically that makes it not a living specimen in nature as it was planted and is cared for by the staff. However, this location offer many opportunities to photograph a variety of cacti and I couldn’t resist.

Saguaro Flower in Carefree, Arizona – I found the flowers of the Saguaro to be beautiful. However, most often the Saguaro Flower is so high up on the cactus it is very difficult to get a good image of the blossom. This one provided a glimpse into the heart of the flower.
