Dark-eyed Junco Up Close – This Junco was preened and ready for whatever comes next near Indian Creek Campground in Yellowstone National Park. On a morning walk, I found this Dark-eyed Junco taking a bath in a puddle of water. Eventually, it flew into a tree and began the tedious process of preening. When I made this photograph the bird had completed the job and seemed to be waiting or deciding what it should do next.
