Fearless Yellow-bellied Marmot – While making a late afternoon visit to the Sheepeater Cliff Picnic Area in Yellowstone National Park, I came across this absolutely fearless Yellow-bellied Marmot. She was likely eating as much as she could in order to have the energy to make milk for her young. The longer I observed her, the more concerned I became that she may have been being fed by people. Feeding of any wild animals in any US National Park is strictly forbidden.
