Vista Encantada Grand Canyon North Rim

2016 10 25 Grand Canyon National Park - North Rim Vista Encantada001

Vista Encantada Grand Canyon – Viewing the Grand Canyon from the North Rim gives one a completely different perspective of this natural wonder.  The North Rim is lined with trees and much more lush grasses than the desert look of the South Rim.  One has to wonder why the South Rim attracts so many more visitors than the north.  My guess, and it is just that a guess is that the highway routing was much more conducive to reaching the South Rim.  That could have been driven by the ease of highway routing to the south or possibly due to the early popularity of the South Rim.  Possibly one of those chicken before the egg scenarios?

Our trips from Yellowstone National Park back to our home in Central Texas usually include stops at places we had never been or places we wanted to return to.  In the fall of 2016, we decided to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  In late October, the downside of visiting this area is that nearly every concession operation in the park had already closed, or operations were significantly reduced.  However, this same fact meant there were not a lot of other people making our visit more relaxing.
