Great Grey Owl – Yellowstone National Park -The Great Gray Owl spent some time on the ground following an unsuccessful attempt to catch some small creature, then flew up to this perch. The bird remained quite still for several minutes, just turning its head from time to time as a favor to all the photographers so all might get good images. It then lifted off and left the immediate area only to be followed by many of the photographers who wound up sort of chasing it from one perch to another. By this time, I began to feel as though we were interfering in the animal’s routine, so I departed the area. However, I departed with some wonderful images in my head. It was my first sighting of a Great Gray Owl and I was thrilled.
